Grow Wealth Without Any Extra Income

Holidays bring out the best and the worst in us. The person we are intensifies and many people feel compelled to do more than usual. We all want to help others by giving. Yet are unable to do so because we are slaves to our lenders. The bills we have managed to keep under control and pay each month are now burdened with new purchases due to the season. It makes us feel good to buy and give to others during this time even though inside we seem full of worry over what is going to happen during the next few months. Our lives hinge on a worn out thread that could give at a moment's notice.

If this is what you are going through, there is hope. Many of us struggling do so by choice. Yes, choice. We have this preconceived image in our heads of how we should live and we can't seem to find any alternative to this. But there is a different way. By simply making some changes you will renew your spirit and find inner peace. This is something no amount of money can buy.

Most people, not living at home with their parents, have bills such as television service, internet, electricity, car insurance, and groceries. These are all expenses where the bills fluctuate. These bills can be adjusted to help you grow wealth. You see, with wealth comes the ability to have peace, share with those who have less, and simply save for a rainy day. Wealth is a way of living. We can't all depend on an inheritance but we can all depend on skills that will tell our money where to go and how to work for us.

After decided to put this to the test, I realized a large amount of my monthly spending was going to groceries, about $800.00 a month on average. This is easy to do when you stop for a few items every couple of days. Those buy one get one items draw you in but in the end are usually items you don't normally buy and did not need. Devising a plan to cut the grocery bill took a little planning and can be done. First, do not stop in more than once a week. Second, bring cash, when it is gone, you have finished shopping. These two simple steps will teach you how to spend more effectively and stay in control of your money.

Another huge monthly expense for many of us is television service. Almost every person on this planet watches t.v. and most would give up everything else before giving up their shows. You no longer need to pay $80 and up to have your favorite shows at your fingertips and saved on a DVR for viewing later. Cancelling the satellite service has been the easiest bill to discard. I paid $80 per month and still did not receive all the channels. Have you ever said let's go to the movies and watch something from 6 months ago? No. So why tape your shows and watch them weeks from now? This is a gimmick that has made providers very rich. Paying for internet allows you the opportunity to watch Hulu, Netflix, Crackle and more. Some of the services are completely free while others are less than $10.00 a month and offer all the shows you will find on cable or satellite.

Lowering the electric bill is as simple as paying attention to lights, fans, and anything else using power. If you have kids, make a game of it. In my house we told the kids that if the electric bill is over $50 less they each earn $2 for their help in accomplishing this. If it is less than $50 but there is a savings they each earn $1. Since then, they have made a conscious effort to turn off lights when not in the room and turn off their fans when not needed. They have even reminded others to do the same. Just two months the electric bill was $240.00 and now we are at $120.00. Take note of the weather also, if it seems cooler outside than you keep it inside, shut off the a/c and open the windows.

All other services are easily adjusted by being a valuable customer. Companies want customers who pay their bills on time and are reliable. I found that simply calling them up and asking for a lower rate does work. Even if they offer you a temporary discount to stay, do it. If you start your conversation with "I am on a budget and need to make changes" it is less likely they will attempt to sell you a new service which is tempting if you are not firm with your desires.

In a one month period I was able to save just under $400.00 using all the techniques listed above. Each month brings new opportunities and ways in which I challenge myself to grow wealth, allowing me to help others.

Enjoy the new year with a new plan. Tell your money where to go and be in control of your life. Happy New Year.
